Maryland Governor to Sign Gay Marriage Legislation–But Voters to Decide in November

by Beverly A. Pekala on February 27, 2012

Governor Martin O’Malley is expected to sign legislation on March 1, 2012, approving

same-sex marriage. However, the law won’t become effective unless voters pass
a referendum on the ballot this November.
Maryland recognizes same-sex marriages which were performed in states in
which same-sex marriage is legal.
